The Box of Nightmares is a magical device owned by Lightmare that causes its target to suffer an ongoing nightmare. Although nothing is actually happening to them, the victim believes that they are being subjected to their worst fears. Lightmare opens this box with a key. As long as the lid remains open, the nightmares will continue.

Lightmare has used this box on a number of occasions to completely incapacitate her opponents in an instant. The following is a list of their revealed fears:
- Charmy Bee - Buzz Off insect spray (first time) and an unknown fear (second meeting). During their third meeting, Lightmare believed Charmy to not be worth bothering about.
- Vector the Crocodile - falling
- Sonic the Hedgehog - blindness
- Mighty the Armadillo - unknown (first time) and being locked in a cage
- Espio the Chameleon - unknown
