Chief Kordon is the leader of a native tribe of birds that live in the Hill Top Zone. Kordon, among all others in his family, live on the volcano known as the Mountain of Destiny and used to live in constant fear of the volcano erupting, destroying their homes. On one occasion, seismic activity around the volcano was reaching a high point and Kordon summoned Sonic the Hedgehog to save their homes. Despite's Kordon's belief that the Gods were angry at them, Sonic and Tails discovered the problem to be thanks a Seismatron but could not defuse the situation. Instead, Super Sonic turned the molten lava from the eruption into a solid rock sculpture of himself, saving Kordon's people.
