There are two suns!
Doomsday is a 3-part Sonic the Hedgehog story, running from Issue 97 to Issue 99 of Sonic the Comic. The adventure marked the end of Sonic's stay in the Special Zone and one of three stories that led into The Final Victory.

Story[]
In New Tek City, Lord Sidewinder is looking for Super Sonic, adamant he can use his power to rule the world. Elsewhere, Sonic and the Chaotix Crew are finishing off a battle with Doctor Plague's henchman before the man himself appears with a vial powerful enough to wipe out all life in the city. Sonic catches the thrown virus, but Plague throws 8 more. With an impressive, yet cocky, performance, Sonic catches them all and Plague is arrested. Sonic gets a transmission from Mobius from Porker Lewis, exclaiming great danger before getting cut off. Everyone looks up and sees two suns in the sky, a sign of the end of the world. This is followed by the re-appearance of Omni-Viewer, saying the world is in deadly danger.
Omni explains that trying to freeze Super Sonic in time was too much for him, but he managed to slow time to a crawl. Super knew what was happening and began building up energy, turning his Black Asteroid prison into an electron bomb, ready to explode in a few hours. Sonic wants to use Omni to get back to Mobius to save Porker, but Chaotix need Sonic's help and Omni needs recharging. Suddenly, Lightmare appears and a fight breaks out. Lightmare makes Sonic think he is blind and "locks" Mighty the Armadillo in a cage, before Espio the Chameleon sneaks up and knocks Lightmare to the ground, before the villain reveals themself to be a girl, Sidewinder's daughter no less. Lightmare returns to base after informing Sonic and Chaotix of her dad's plans, before the entire team jet off towards the Black Asteroid.
Vector the Crocodile is at Equinox, a top secret scientific laboratory, when Omni suddenly appears. He has been to Mobius and has seen the problems that Porker was alluding to. The team begin giving Omni a complete recharge, but not before another scientist runs in and warns that the Black Asteroid will give off an electromagnetic pulse, radiation powerful enough to knock out every computer on the planet. On a floating rock in space, Sidewinder reveals he will call to Super Sonic with the power of his mind, but before Mr. Fry and Bio-Hazard can complain too much, Sonic and Chaotix appear and a fight begins. Sidewinder's men are beaten very quickly as Omni and Vector arrive. Vector reveals that the Black Asteroid is about to explode. Sonic is in two minds - he wants to go home, but he can't leave the Special Zone at the mercy of Super Sonic. Vector then mentions the EMP, which gives Sonic an idea. He orders Omni to teleport the Asteroid to Mobius. Dubious, he does so, and the rock explodes in the skies of Sonic's home planet...
Trivia[]
- This story links ties very closely with the Knuckles the Echidna story, Victims. Two separate events (Porker contacing Sonic and Omni visting the Floating Island) both appear in the Knuckles story from different viewpoints.
- The story concludes in Issue 100's The Final Victory.
