The Emerald Ocean is an expansive body of water somewhere on Mobius. Its name suggests that it may lie somewhere off the coast of the Emerald Hill Zone or Emerald Coast Zone (or both). Its only named appearance is in Issue 235's Two Roads Diverged (although it briefly appeared in previous story Genesis), where Sonic the Hedgehog had been imprisoned in a floating capsule by Shadow the Hedgehog to watch the world be destroyed. Sonic was rescued when Tails found him in his biplane and smashed him out of his prison. The ocean may also have appeared in Issue 6's Attack on the Death Egg, when Sonic piloted the falling Death Egg into the sea near Emerald Hill.
