The Fundamental Four are a villainous team from the Special Zone. Each member of the quartet represent one of the four classical elements - fire, water, earth and air.
Members[]
- Hydran - the leader, Hydran is the embodiment of water. His true form is a puddle of water with eyes and a mouth, but keeps this all together in a special suit. He is short-tempered with his colleagues.
- Flare - the only female of the team, Flare is a being made entirely of fire. She can launch parts of her body at her foes.
- Squall - the team member that represents air/wind, Squall can rush at enemies and knock them off their feet.
- Gravel - the muscle of the team, he seems to be literally made of gravel. The "earth" villain speaks in an unintelligible language, although the rest of the team seem to understand him. Gravel can punch the floor to knock people off their feet, just like Knuckles the Echidna.
History[]
The Fundamental Four were a powerful crime gang in the Special Zone until they were caught and sent to prison by the Chaotix Crew. After four years, the team escaped and travelled by rocket straight to Chaotix's Satellite Base to get their revenge. Using Gravel to break through the wall, the team managed to easily overpower Chaotix (although Charmy Bee was absent) and locked them in a liquidiser. Before they could kill the heroes, Charmy returned with a swarm of worker bees from The Hive. Working together, the bees were able to turn the Fundamental Four into a piece of pottery, although they could still see and talk from within their new home.
