Genie

Genies are supernatural creatures, well-known in Earth folklore and culture. Usually known for granting wishes, genies are often shown to have vast amounts of magical power.

Genies are a renowned force of power on Shanazar and when bonded with a host, can be summoned in times of great danger. They exist in a smoky spectral form in their home in the Mystic Mountain and can only take a solid form when they bond with a selected child host in the Ritual of Transformation. This ritual is the only way the genies can leave the mountain, unleashing their true potential, and has kept the kingdom strong for generations. The genies' masters are treated like royalty while a genie is at their beck and call, but the downside is that the children's lifespans are cut to only five more years. Sonic, however, took issue with this and destroyed the Mystic Globe which housed many of the genie spirits, putting an end to the rituals.
