The Ice Palace of Mobius is a large building on Mobius that is completely made from ice. It was originally a shelter during the Great War but was eventually abandoned. The palace is in an extremely remote location, atop a mountain beset by freezing winds.
History[]
After being left abandoned for millenia, the Ice Palace as discovered by explorers amazed by the untouched history. Unfortunately, the explorers never left the abode and people who heard of the story were led to believe that the palace was cursed. In reality, the explorers were forced to hide when Doctor Robotnik took over the palace and filled it with his Troopers. The explorers laid low, using the ancient technology to sustain themselves with food, warmth and shelter. However, the Troopers remained, so the explorers decided to release a caged guardian that went on to destroy the Troopers. This proved successful (unless they were destroyed first by the electromagnetic pulse, but the guardian was now stopping them from escaping.
One Christmas Eve, Sonic the Hedgehog and Tails came to explore the "cursed" castle. Travelling along a narrow icy walkway, the heroes were quickly greeted by the guardian and Tails was forced to rescue a drowning Sonic by taking him through a small hole under the water. They met the explorers in the facility's library and Tails came with a plan to free both the explorers and the guardian. Sonic melted one of the walls by performing a Sonic-Cyclone on it, allowing the guardian to do the rest by smashing through it. The guardian fell from the building into the surrounding waters and everyone else was able to go home.
