Issue 232
is the two hundred and thirty-second edition of Sonic the Comic, and the ninth edition of Sonic the Comic Online. Released on the 29th of August 2004, free at the STC-O website, it contained two original stories and several features.

Sonic the Hedgehog

Something Wicked This Way Comes is a Sonic the Hedgehog complete story. Written by Ed Reynolds, with art by Thalia Evans and lettering from Michael Stewart, the story sees Sonic and Knuckles the Echidna team up with the Chaotix Crew to search for the Chaos Emeralds, which have been warped to the Special Zone. They're not the only ones trying to get them, as Shadow the Hedgehog has found his way to the dimension. As part of The Syndicate's plan, the Chaos Emeralds are being brought together to destroy the Special Zone and Shadow, as well as a bunch of robotic spiders, are here to make sure Sonic doesn't stop this from happening.

Sonic's World

Return of the Cybernik! is a Sonic's World complete story, marking the return of Shortfuse the Cybernik to the comic. The story is provided by Mike Corker, art by Chris G and lettering by Kerrie Mock. Tekno has completed a new suit of armour for Shorty, which can be worn at will. He doesn't have long to wait to try it out, with a monster on the loose in the Green Hill Zone. A slave is here to carry his master's wishes, punching Shortfuse through a window and locking up his armour. Tekno manages to trick the slave into getting seriously hurt, but his job is done. It seems as if someone has tampered with Shortfuse's armour...

Control Zone

This issue's Control Zone, hosted by Megadroid, runs through the stories and features inside this issue.

Data Zone

The Data Zone, as always, gives new readers an idea of the different characters and the stories in progress. The story so far states: "Villainous echidna Doctor Zachary has gathered together a group of outlaws, called The Syndicate. Rouge's attempt to steal the powerful Chaos Emeralds failed, and they were warped back to the Special Zone. Sonic and Knuckles must retrieve them before the Syndicate can use its mysterious new weapon: the being known only as Shadow.
