Issue 25 is the twenty-fifth edition of Sonic the Comic, the UK's official Sega comic. Released on the 30th of April 1994 at the price of £1.10, the issue contains four original stories (two of them new) and several features.

Sonic the Hedgehog[]
The Sonic Terminator is a 5-part Sonic story by Nigel Kitching, Richard Elson and Steve Potter. Following on from last time, the Freedom Fighters have chased the Sky Pirates down to North Cave after Porker Lewis told Filch where to find the Chaos Emeralds. A battle breaks out between the two factions until Tails is captured, forcing Sonic to hand over the Emeralds. Sonic and Tails chase after them in the biplane, only to discover the Emeralds have absorbed their evil. While all this is going on, the new Metallix is attacking the Emerald Hill Zone in its search for Sonic.
Streets of Rage[]
Skates' Story is a 6-part Streets of Rage story by Mark Millar, Peter Richardson and Tom Frame and is Skates' first appearance in a story. Axel Stone is busy cleaning the streets and fighting gang members, but has missed a vital meeting with Officer Murphy. The honest policeman returns home to Maria, disgusted that his stepson is coming out of prison today. As Skates returns to the streets and hooks up with old friend Roach, a consortium led by Mr X is planning on killing Murphy...
Sonic's World[]
prologue: Once Upon a Planet... is the first ever Sonic's World story, written by Kitching, drawn by Mike Hadley, coloured by John M Burns and lettered by Ellie de Ville. The strip, narrated by the Kintobor Computer, introduces Boomers to Mobius' history, its geography and Doctor Robotnik's attacks on the planet so far. The action covers the aftermath of Casino Night as well as teasing the rest of The Sonic Terminator and future Miracle Planet stories.
Wonder Boy[]
Wonder Boy in Ghost World is a 6-part story by Mark Eyles, Bojan Djukac and Elitta Fell. Shion has just escaped a flying dinosaur ghost and told Wordsmith to run when he is attacked by guards Morcie and Wisie. Both the warrior and the stone Lukout are taken to see the Dinosaur King in Dinotown, where the monarch explains to Shion about how they came to be ghosts, why a staircase now connects Ghost World to the Skyrock Mountains and that the dino plans on turning Shion into a ghost.
Features[]
This issue's Control Zone, hosted by Megadroid, contains a shortened Welcome Screen that introduces the two new stories and the return of the Graphic Zone. A column is dedicated to Nik Baker, a surfing champion sponsored by Sega while there's also a "Good Reading Guide" featuring Sonic the Poster Mag 4 and the Eternal Champions Special. The Sega Charts see Sonic the Hedgehog 3 remain top of the Mega Drive chart and Ground Zero: Texas remains the leader for the Mega-CD, whilst Sonic Chaos returns to the top of the Game Gear chart, as does NBA Jam for the Master System.
The Review Zone is limited to just three entries this issue, with David Gibbon awarding Prince of Persia 79% and Castlevania - The New Generation (both MD) 87%. Steve May also returns to review James Pond 3 (also MD), giving it a score of 87% despite its lack of originality. The News Zone, helmed by Garry Penn, gives more information on the forthcoming Sega Mega Drive 32X (known at this point as Mega Drive 32), as well as previewing summer games Bodycount, Relayer, Soleil (known here as Ragnacenty) and Story of Thor. Short Bursts is missing this week, instead replaced by an advert for a Sonic 3 play guide and a preview for Pirate S.T.C. featuring Sackhead and one of the Tronic Twins.
Issue 25 sees the return of the Graphic Zone, featuring pictures of Head, Tails, Porker Lewis, Cool Spot, Ecco the Dolphin and a "female" version of Tails. All entries received a Tomy Sonic the Hedgehog Water Fun Game, also the prize for Speedlines. Q Zone sees Vincent Low continue his Sonic Solved - Sonic Chaos edition with information on the Special Stages. Finally, Speedlines has letters about not representing the female minority in Speedlines, a budding editor, an angry letter about the quality of artwork sent in and a cheeky request for a Tomy game because the writer is learning to swim!
