Sonic is attacked by a Whisp swarm.
Whisps are second-generation Badniks created by Doctor Robotnik. They resemble large flies and always travel in swarms. They are not normally armed but some have been modified to fire lasers from their eyes. Whisps have also been shown to be defiant, not wishing to let Sonic the Hedgehog steal their organic battery despite being one-on-one with the hedgehog.
Whisps appear in the video game Sonic the Hedgehog 2 in the Aquatic Ruin Zone.
